UpCycled Romance by #KymStylz & #LisaLesa #KymCouture #PhotoShoot

Just around the corner in every woman's mind is a lovely dress, suit or entire costume which will make an enchanting new creature of her...

This clutch, upcycled by Lisa  is very special, for it belonged to Lisa's late Mother, therefore it holds profound setimental value. That is yet another connection Lisa and I have, I believe the spirit of my mother lives in every thread of my garments.
I hand picked these elegant heels as a compliment to my "Rose thru Koncrete" Kollection. Designer and UpCycing Artist Lisa Wiebe completed the look for me with her "Cement Brocade" and below is the final result.

Thanks http://www.lisalesa.com/ for the Cool "Shoeshine". The look is now Enchanted with an Edge.

I ❤ Betsey Johnson

Betsey paints on the wall in front of her San Francisco Flagsip store

She once described her style as a formula: "Take a leotard and add a skirt."

In the 1970s, Johnson took control of the fashion label "Alley Cat" which was popular with the rock 'n roll musicians oftheday. In her first year, her first collection for Alley Cat reportedly did $5 million in volume.  In 1972 she won the Coty Award. In 1978, Johnson started her own fashion line. While her first collection was a success, her second one bombed, leaving her with 3,000 pieces of spring clothing and insufficient funds to stage a fashion show to attempt to sell them. In response, Johnson opened a retail store in SoHo. Today, there are over forty-five of her stores worldwide.

#Salute to La'Quan Smith Celebrity Designer

21 years old and with a lot of talent...in the past years LaQuan Smith has created custom pieces for the likes of Lady Gaga and Rihanna, but he's been making clothes since he got a sewing machine for Christmas when he was 13.
Smith's collection is a mix of voluminous Balenciaga-inspired tops, neoprene dresses and ruffled denim jackets..
Here there are my favorites dresses of F/W 2010 collections.

For LaQuan Smith’s LQS Spring/Summer 2011 collection, titled Hard Candy, the young designer used childhood sweets as inspiration, knighting each piece with names like Tangerine Dream, Pralines & Cream, Mimosa, and Marzipan. Hues like rose bonbon, cotton candy blue, lemon yellow, and bubblegum pink played on minimalist miniskirts, tanks, and cocktails.
Geared towards the young and sexy, this season's line up includes second skin catsuits and mini dresses, structured, stretch ensembles marrying royal blue jackets with orange crush bottoms, puff sleeved jackets with slimming straight legged pants, and sequin addled pencil skirts with racerback tanks. Hollywood’s youngest starlets are already fans - Rihanna has a predlection for the Bubblegum dress, Cassie and Selita Ebanks have both worn the Strawberries & Cream cocktail, and Nicki Minaj has sidled to the look LaQuan calls Lollipop.

Maxi Dresses, All the Summer Rave

                 From casual to elegant
If the maxi dress had to be put into three words I would choose these three “f’s”: flirty, flowing and floor length! Celebrities from Jessica Alba to Miley Cyrus are sporting summer’s most fashionable trend. Everyone thought the maxi dress would die along the boho style of Mary-Kate and Ashley. But the maxi dress has proved its greatness when it came back into fashion for 2008 because of its fashionable casualness and easiness to wear.
“Maxi” must be an abbreviation for “maximum” since this dress offers maximum comfort and maximum comfort which is what we love about this season’s trend. The “maxi” is the perfect piece to take from day to night because of the casual fabrics the dress comes in, and the long length and pretty patterns makes it glam enough for the night. We live in our maxi dresses and believe it has become the new velour jumpsuit! Throw it on when you’re walking the dog, shopping for groceries, or for your coffee runs, its comfortable and more glamorous than any tracksuit.

It can be tricky to wear this trend without looking like a huge tent, so here are a few tips to making sure you look like a socialite and not a balloon:
  1. Make sure to find a dress that is more fitted around the chest area or an empire waist to at least some of your body some shape.
  2. If you’ve got some hips and stomach don’t pick a dress that’s too voluminous or has too much fabric because that will add to the “tent” factor.
  3. If you’re lacking in the height department make sure to find a dress that isn’t too long, fix your hemlines so you don’t lose any more inches from your petite stature.
  4. Don’t match this long flowing dress with an oversized coat or long sweater, instead opt for a cropped bolero or fitted cardigan to prevent yourself from looking too grungy.

                           Works Great on Curves

                                 Stylz are limitless

Have fun experimenting with the different ways to wear your maxi dress this season. Accessorize it with pretty necklaces, chunky bracelets or fabulous hoop earrings. You can adapt this season’s dress into any of your summer’s events so take advantage of this trend, I know I will, with my own designs!
